**************                 Hello Again!              **************   09-25-2022          I hope that everyone had a productive and restful week. This week was insane. I went through Monday like a champion only to find out I was developing a really bad cold. That cold got worse and kept me out of school for the entire middle of the week. This gave me a lot of reflection time on how I want to better my life and work on my routine. It also made me realize that I was burning a little too hot and needed to cool down a little and slow my pace. I have always had a problem with getting overwhelmed and I am thankful my body recognized I needed a breather and gave me the opportunity to take one.          That being said, this was my last week of journaling and poetry. Overall, I think I have found a love for journaling. I plan on continuing journaling mo...

Week 3: Journaling and Poetry

**************                 Hello Again!              ************** 09-18-2022          I hope everyone has had a wonderful week and weekend. This week was harder on me than the rest. I got sick a little bit earlier in the week and have been recovering from it ever since. It took a lot of energy out of me and made me behind on a couple of assignments. Because of this, I was only able to work on my Creative Practice project twice this week. While that is under my goal, I am thankful I was able to do two activities rather than one. I am hoping that next week I can do three to four again and stay on track.                       I feel that overall this week, because of the sickness and exhaustion, it was harder to relax when reading and writing. I feel like there wasn't a moment when my brain really shut off, ev...

**************                 Hello Again!              ************** 09-11-2022           I hope this week has been good for everyone. With the holiday last weekend, my week definitely has not run as smooth and normal as it usually does. The lack of school on Monday has changed the grove for this week. I am hopefully next week I will be back to it. This week, I was able to journal 10 questions and read about 30 minutes of poetry. With all the writing I did last week, I figured with how weird this week was that I would take it easy. I still wanted to be creative and participate in this art but with the craziness of the week, it had to change a bit.                     This entire project is one learning curve. Some weeks are going to be different than others and that is okay. Health wise, this project has been putting...

Welcome to my Creative Journey!

**************                 Hello everyone!           ************** 08-29-2022           My name is Alyssa Jackson and today starts the beginning of my Creative Practice journey! First, I would like to share a little bit about me. I was born in Marietta, GA and moved to Florida when I was two years old. I grew up in a small town in Polk County where there used to be more cows than people. Given the small town environment, I found many things to pass the time, one being music. I feel in love with singing and piano from a young age and it was my favorite part of my school day. When it came time to choose a college, UF was the obvious choice. It had been my dream school for years and I was thrilled at the opportunity to attend. I am a Music Education major who is getting a certificate in Music and Medicine. This is what has led me to this point - my Creative Practice journey.  ...
