Week 7 : Drawing and Painting

 

**************                 Hello Again!              **************

       I hope everyone had a great week. This week was my first normal week back in a while. This placed a lot of stress on my shoulders more rapidly than I was prepared for. None-the-less, this project really helped me out this week. I was able to put it on pause and just paint. It was something I needed to get through this week. I am hopeful because the next couple of weeks are not going to be easy either. If it was able to help me as much as it did this week, I am hopeful for the weeks to come. This week I decided to paint and learn about lavender. 

***********************                           Monday                   ***********************
 
        On Monday, I decided I was going to sketch out the lavender. It took me about an hour to get into a rhythm because the stress of the week made it harder to relax. Once I got into rhythm I was able to relax and focus on my drawing. I was able to withdraw from the stress and relax for a short moment. It was a great restart. Once I was done, I felt better physically and mentally. This is the first time I truly felt the impact of this creative practice project. Here is a picture of my drawing.





***********************                       Wednesday                  ***********************
      
        On Wednesday, I decided I wanted to do the painting. I have found over the past two weeks that the painting part is one of my favorites. I love what adding color can do to an image. I never thought I loved painting as much as I do but I will definitely be keeping this creative practice in my routine. Getting into the painting part was very similar to Monday. It was hard to focus while trying to find reference photos and the information I was going to put on the slide. Once I picked up the paintbrush thought, it changed. I was able to relax. I didn't work as much today because I unfortunately got a migraine during the day. But the painting with some light sunlight coming through the window helped reduce the pain. Here is my painting. 



***********************                             Friday                    ***********************

        On Friday, I was ready to do my outlining. This one feels different to finish. I feel like I have finally found something that helps with the stress of my day. The outlining was okay this time. I know over the past couple of weeks I have been back and forth about it. I think its just okay this time but that is better than not linking it. This really helped my mental and physical well-being this week. I can't wait to see what happens next week. Here is a picture of the final product.
