Week 10: Drawing and Painting

**************                 Hello Again!              **************

11-6-2022

I hope everyone had a good week. This week was very busy with school work so finding time to participate in this exercise was difficult. However, I was able to complete my drawing despite the scheduling issues. I decided this week to work on cinnamon as inspired by the holiday season. Cinnamon is one I can work with in my cooking journey as well as learning about the different herbs. I feel like I have grown a lot with this project and I am sad to see it coming to an end so soon. There are still a few more posts left so lets make the most of it! I decided to learn about cinnamon this week.

***********************                           Monday                   ***********************

On Monday, I decided I was going to sketch out the cinnamon. For this drawing, I wanted to show the plant itself and the rolled form. I also wanted to continue similar as the last project and do less sketching and more painting. However, I still wanted to have a sketch to follow. This week, it felt more like a burden to complete this project. I feel it is because I have had so much going on this week that I wasn't able to fully relax while completing this exercise. My mind never turned off and it didn't help take me away form the This is my sketch.

***********************                      Wednesday                    ***********************

On Wednesday, I was able to do my painting. I still felt stressed while painting but I feel it took more of a load off than the sketching did. I feel more connected to the work when I paint rather than sketching. However, I did not feel as much of an impact. I cannot tell if it is because I have been doing this project for a while or I am just overstimulated. However, I have started to explore places that this project can go. Maybe I will be able to talk about it before the end of the project. This is my painting.

***********************                         Saturday                      ***********************

On Saturday, I was able to finish my outlining of this piece. Friday was too hectic for me to be able to create. I found some time on Saturday to finish this drawing. After the insanity of the week, I was hoping that it would be like a sigh of relief. However, I didn't feel that release until after I was finished. I wasn't able to find a relaxation point from this week. I hope that next week is better in my workload and my painting. This project is coming to an end and I am both excited and sad. This is my final painting.

See you next week!
