Week 11: Drawing and Painting

**************                 Hello Again!              **************

 11-13-2022

I hope everyone had a great week. This week was more normal than previous weeks with the exception of the hurricane. This just gave me another break to help rest. As the semester gets closer to its end, the stress gets higher and higher. This weeks drawing was more complex and I tried to do minimal sketching and let the paint/outlining shine. Overall, it was just an additional relaxation factor on my week for there wasn't anything that truly stressed me out. Here is my process of creating clove.

On Monday, I decided I was going to sketch out my clove. This is one that I really have never heard of but it looked cool on Pinterest and I thought why not! I tried to do minimal sketching so I could add detail later with the paint. It was fun drawing all of the interlocking lines. It gave me something to concentrate on. This really brought me out of the stress of my day and I really enjoyed it. Here is my sketch.

***********************                       Wednesday                  ***********************

On Wednesday, I decided I wanted to do the painting. The painting did not go as planned and I started outlining before I knew when to stop! I was having a lot of fun with this painting but there was some issues while it was drying. These don't have to be perfect though, so I went along with it. If this was me at the beginning of this project, I would have started over. Not only am I learning about things that grow, but I have also grown a bit myself. Because this painting was so fun, it was a great influence on my health. It really pulled me out and put me somewhere new. Here is my painting.

***********************                             Friday                    ***********************

On Friday, I was ready to do my outlining. I finished what was left and tried some different things along the way. Some of the leaves look different and it was because I tried a new art style and didn't like it so much. Once its done in sharpie, it never goes away however, so I am glad I realized it after the second leaf. The outlining was not as encapsulating as the painting but it was fun. I was happy to finally put some structure to the orange buds of the clove. I really like how this piece turned out, despite all of its fun features. Here is the finished project.

See you all next week!
